i was washing the shirts that i dyed green tonight, and i said to myself, "since i'm on the first floor, i'll just do a walk-through of the house to make sure things are in order." and i walk into the kitchen and i hear this tap tap tapping. and i'm like, "oh, please let there not be a ghost sitting over there." why a ghost would be making a tapping noise, i don't know.
so, i turn on the kitchen lights and don't see anything. or anyone. i check the faucet, and it's off. then i notice that the counter by the Kitchen Aid is soaking wet. and i look, and there's a leak dripping from the ceiling. aw, great.
i walk over, and the counter is seriously soaking wet. it takes me three huge batches of paper towels to wipe it up. and i find a bowl to set under the leak. it was gross.
so then i walk to the upstairs bathroom because i think it's right over the leaky spot. nothing is leaking in the bathroom. so, what can i do about this at 1am? nothing.
and that was all. i'll log it in the morning. kind of sucky timing, because the next two days the state will be in to renew our license as a group home.
anyways. then i went back upstairs and watched more Entourage.
OK, so the only one i almost love more than Ari, is ARI'S WIFE. she is hilarious. tonight she made me laugh soooo hard. and then i rewatched the part i laughed at and i laughed even more. it was when the valet at the fancy restaurant gave them the wrong car and they are fighting and trying to blame one another for not noticing and they go:
ARI: What, are you blind?!
ARI'S WIFE: You drove it home, schmuck!
omg, i loved it. i love them. they should have a spin off show.
soooo.
so yeah, the state people are coming in tomorrow to check us out. everyone has been in major GO mode trying to get things perfect. we're all going to be interviewed tomorrow individually. the guy who interviews us has been described to me as "old and quirky." fair enough.
medication re-certification went well. lasted 1.5 hours. nothing too different than what i had learned when i took the class in the spring. except we learned how to use an epi pen. that part was interesting and kind of scary. i hope i never have to use one.
so, it's super hott here. gross.
so, i'm basically working allllll day tomorrow. this is tuesday:
8-9: work
9:30-whenever: doctor's appointment with resident
12:30-3:30: staff meeting/state interviews
3:30-4:30: childbirth class
that's a full day! Courtney and i are attending our first childbirth class with the resident for whom we are labor coaches. i'm excited/nervous.
and then wednesday i'm working 3:30-10pm.
and then thursday i'm heading to maine!!!! i'll be in maine thursday and friday night. friday is the big Isle of Shoals boat trip with my dad and kara. i'm super looking forward to it. saturday is CPR from 8:30 until 5:30. then drive back up here. and then Sunday is maybe a hangout with emily, david, jenny, ross and josh!!! maybe?!?!
wow. look at all those plans!!!!
i have to ask someone to feed Ruby Tuesday while i'm gone. aw, i'm gonna miss her. she hates it when i go away.
anyways, i'm going to bed now. i have to be up early tomorrow. and then sit through lots of meetings. yuck.
maybe i'll wear my CITIZEN pin tomorrow. with my new green shirt. hey, that sounds like a great combo!!
i hope you all have had lovely days and have lovely tomorrows. i'll talk to you soon. perhaps an update in the morning of all my exciting happenings between 2:30 and 8am.
loveya.
