here's the first piece of interesting information that i've learned:

It has been estimated that there are more synapses in the human brain than there are stars in our galaxy.

SYNAPSE = The site where a presynaptic terminal ends in close proximity to a receiving dendrite.

i'm currently trying to figure out what those crazy words mean.

i just can't concentrate about cells. i think it's the way that they are always described. this type of cell sends a message to this receiving cell. it's like, what?? i immediately imagine a little cell wearing a fedora and carrying a briefcase walking down the road to another cell sitting on a park bench and handing him an unopened letter.

this is all going on in my brain?!?!

can't we just watch The Magic School Bus??? there must be an episode on this stuff.
